Giving back isn’t a buzzword for us. It’s a way of life at SMI. Our mission is to support individuals and communities through significant changes that inspire lifelong growth, help them develop, and ultimately crystalize a new reality. We believe very person has the capacity and right to live a healthy, happy, productive life, to thrive in physical health, education relationships, career, finance, and all the endeavors that bring joy and happiness.

This extends beyond our personal lives and local communities to the global community at large. We are currently on a mission to empower and uplift women to financial freedom and build the leaders of today and tomorrow in The Gambia, and support the educational development of children in Kenya. Our Lady Of Victory Primary School

356 STUDENTS SUPPORTED WITH CLOTHING, SUPPLIES, FOOD AND STIPENDS

Our Lady Of Victory Primary School is a public school in the Mavoloni Education Zone - located in the Yatta Subcounty of Machakos County in Kenya. The school is located on a small parcel of land and only has updated indoor plumbing in the girl’s dormitory (which was once shared with the boys).

Our Why

The majority of students that attend the school only receive one meal a day, consisting of porridge and vegetables. They rarely receive meat, fruit, rice or beans, therefore there is no variety or nutritional balance in the meals.
The children do not have tables, chairs, a or dining hall to sit and eat their food, so they stand when they eat lunch.
The school has a small pantry to store porridge and vegetables. They have had several failed attempts to start a garden and what they do have they’ve been able to get a few vegetables from.
Most students must carry their books in plastic or paper bags, as there are no resources at home or school to provide backpacks.

SMI provides school uniforms, book bags and school supplies for all 356 students and school meals for 334 Students - which includes meat, porridge & fruit. The remaining students will receive government stipends.

Founded by Dr. Kumba Daffeh-Kah in 2019, Tressor Women Warriors is based out of the Gambia in Africa and is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organization engaged in the empowerment and general well-being of women and young girls. The organization has grown from 100 women to over 7000 women across The Gambia.

The Shaurice Mullins International Missions Program is an extension of Shaurice Mullins International’s (SMI) community outreach, transformation, and empowerment movement. The SMI International Missions Program strengthens global communities through a coordinated, progressive series of high-quality empowerment strategies and learning experiences that help individuals to achieve social, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being. The program mainly serves women within the North American, Caribbean, and African continents; however, the program welcomes both men and women globally.
